I was born in 1957. I studied economics and economic policy at the University of London. I hold an Msc Degree in Economics and Economic Policy and a Phd in Economics.
From 1991 until 1996 I have worked as a consultant participating in major projects concerning: (a) the management and evaluation of European Union funded programs, (b) regional development planning and finance, (c) real estate development and (d) business investment support.
In 1997 I joined the Ministry of Economy initially as an advisor on privatizations while in 2000 I was appointed general secretary responsible for capital markets privatizations and structural reforms. During a five year period (1997-2001) I had overseen privatizations in excess of 12 billion euro. In 2002 I was appointed general secretary of Financial Planning and Defence Investments at the Ministry of Defence and I have initiated a major overhaul of procurement and logistics processes.
I have also been a board member in Commercial Bank of Greece, General Bank of Greece and Hellenic Exchanges.
Since 2004 I have been working as a business consultant in a number of areas especially energy, environment, technology, defence industry, enterprise restructuring, public private partnerships privatizations and the impact of political crisis on the economy.
I am currently working as a business development advisor at THALIS Environmental Services S.A. which is a company specialising in water, waste water and solid waste construction of projects and management of operations.
I have written a number of articles on industrial and innovation policy, business networks, structural reforms privatisations and European defense policy and armaments co-operation.
